Users

The User Settings section of the Synapse Communication Landing Page is comprised of two sections:

  • User List
  • User Privileges

User List

The User List link is a direct launch to the PACS User List page. Here, all users accounts for SynComm and PACS are maintained. The User list may be accessed by users with privilege to SWAT via the link found in the SynComm landing page, or by accessing SWAT directly.

Choosing to Edit an entry in SWAT will open the window below. The Pager, Phone, & Email fields may be populated if clients intend to distribute Urgent Findings from SynComm. The contact information must reside within the user table in order to distribute the Urgent Findings to an individual. Additional configuration for Urgent Findings may be found in the Urgent Findings section.

User Privileges

Additional SynComm specific privileges are maintained via the User Privileges link. There, admin users may define which access individuals will have with regards to the SynComm functions.

  • Begin searching for a user by typing the last name into the Select a User field. A minimum of 2 characters is required for the search to be initiated.

User Role: The user role for SynComm is predefined based on the initial configuration at the User table in SWAT. If the user role in SWAT is not a match to one of the User Roles in SynComm, a role will not be assigned within SynComm. The user would have a view of the patient details and report within the Report tab of the Synapse PowerJacket, however, no additional access to SynComm functions.

For users who will participate with the Emergency Department Findings workflow, the Emergency Department role will need to be selected. If the Emergency Department role is not selected for a user, the ED Findings tool will be hidden from their view.

Worklist Site(s): Administrators may choose which sites users have access to view within the SynComm worklists. The following worklists are affected: ED Findings, Urgent Findings, & Tasks. Users will only have access to view results on the worklists based on the sites selected within the Worklist Site(s) section.

System Privileges: SynComm access is defined per user based on the privilege selections.

Note: Peer Review privileges are only applicable to Radiologist user roles. If the privileges are selected for a different user role (ie, Emergency Department), the privileges will not be available to the user.
